Eww...don't make me PUKE

I subscribe to "TV Guide," and on the table of contents page of next week's issue, there was a series of pictures from the tribute to Mike Nichols that AFI apparently threw recently. And once again, the people in charge all but had their lips glued to Harrison Ford's pen...er, I mean, butt.

One of the pictures was of Herr Ford and ( Read more... )

The fact that Han is on that list and not Luke, the main character and hero of the Star Wars trilogy, shows you have much of a joke that AFI list is to begin with.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Or should I say, keyboard.

All I can say is - She's younger than ME. And that's just wrong.

She's the same age as, I believe, Herr Ford's oldest son Ben. It's wrong, and more than a little gross. Plus I just don't care for her, nor for how he has changed since he's been with her...instead of being press-shy and guarding his private life, he's more than willing to make a fool out of himself in public venues, and pimping his tacky romance on the cover of People.

Oh, I lost any interest or faith in AFI a loooong time ago (and not in a galaxy far, far away either!) That Kate Capshaw wasn't even at the table... that's what fried my brain, you know? As you said, she's even worked with him before! Ann, who's so even tempered, even got pissed about the whole Bony Ass (is it just me or does she get scarier and scarier as she gets older?!) gets to sit with them thing. It was truly, truly ridiculous. (And that was Lucas' date, because I've seen her at other functions with him, like Golden Globes. I think I read somewhere that she works at Lucasfilm.)

Bleh. Just... bleh.

Hee! You clever thing, you.

No, it's not just you, Bony Ass does get scarier and scarier as she gets older. I've never thought she was particularly cute, but the aging process is NOT being kind to her.

Wow, even Ann got pissed about Bony Ass being seated at Lucas's table? That eases the (admittedly minimal) doubt I had after writing my post...I thought maybe I was being too petty.

However, as much as I dislike Bony Ass (couldn't tell, could ya? ;-) ), I admit it wasn't her fault that she was seated there, or that the camera moron kept cutting to her. Nor, really, was it Herr Ford's. Still, the whole thing stinks like last week's garbage. That Kate Capshaw wasn't at the table was what fried my brain too. She had WAY more right to be there than Bony Ass. And certainly Lucas's date did; he was the frickin' honoree.

The press coverage of the event was sickening too. People magazine featured exactly one photo from the event, and ( ... )

Putting Han Solo on the Greatest Heroes list and not putting Luke is like putting Dr. Watson on the list and not Sherlock Holmes.

Indeed.

Anyone here miss Harrison Ford before his mid-life crisis? I liked the old Harrison Ford, the anti-Hollywood guy who seemed like a regular guy in a regular marriage. When he hit 50, it became earings, flying, banging the starlet of the week. It's just kind of sad.

Yeah, I preferred him pre-mid-life crisis too. If nothing else, he didn't talk as much, which meant he complained somewhat less about how *sniffle* HARD the Star Wars association has been on him. *sob ( ... )
