As we all know, Carrie Fisher admitted to using cocaine on the set of ESB, and it caused a firestorm. Carrie wrote out an explanation on her blog, ending it with an amusing comment about Lucas making another movie with the geriatric Mr. and Mrs. Solo on the shopping planet
Well, a bedwetter showed up, and after offering some "No problem, Carrie"

As I posted the other day on my LJ, why do SW fans have to be utter DOUCHEBAGS at every given opportunity? It's as though they just can't leave well enough alone!
Some guy on TFN's board posted this the other day on a thread called "Starting To Really Hate Star Wars Fans":
Internet Star Wars "fandom" is one of the most nauseating, dull, and pointless things I've ever witnessed. And it never seems to end. Everyone knows how Star Wars "should have" begun and ended, and it's almost never what we actually got. These are not fans of Star Wars, they are fans of themselves.

Are there more douchebags in SW fandom than in other fandoms? It sure seems like it.

I generally think Padme was a character with a lot of good intentions and and a lot of complexity, though I don't think it came across very well on screen.

Small digression: so much for the treasured bedwetter belief that "arrogant Luca$" refused to seek help with the scripts for the prequels, egotistically thinking he could write them all by himself. He in fact had a co-writer for the AOTC script, and Tom Stoppard helped him with some of the dialogue-heavy scenes in ROTS -- the opera scene, and I think a couple others.
I agree about Padmé. Part of the problem is that most of her best scenes, in AOTC and ROTS anyway, ended up on the cutting room floor. In TPM she has an icy, unemotional demeanor when she's the queen, but she still shows quite a bit of complexity...especially when you add in the scenes where she's pretending she's a handmaiden, and she shows her emotions more freely.

Psh, almost every comment these so-called fans make are so ten years ago, but they perpetuate them amongst themselves so fervently, they're just... of in their own little world where I imagine that seems very clever. Rolls eyes.
Anywho, good for you! :)
