OK, by now we've probably all heard that Carrie Fisher has become the newest spokes-celebrity for Jenny Craig and gone public with her "battle of the bulge." And yes, people are saying that, either directly or by saying stuff like, "Well, if those remarks made Ms. Fisher decide to get healthy, they're not so bad."
I've never cared for retroactive, "I really meant well" B.S. justification for cruelty. No, you did not mean well; you meant to be cruel.

Being as short as she is, any weight gain could double its effects on her health as well as her appearance. My great-grandmother, who was about 4'9" (really), had quite a few health problems when she gained weight in her dotage, and she didn't even gain all that much.
So, well...I just hope Carrie gets healthy.
