My brother-in-law, Dean, died today at 1:35 pm after a lengthy and painful battle with a brain tumor.

He was 45.

Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law's passing. My uncle has terminal Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and while he could last as long as 8-10 years, given that he had been battling melanoma for over a decade, we really don't know how long he'll be with us. So far, he seems to be doing okay.
