Looks like PA turned bitter-cling red.

Who could have predicted?

Too bad about Sestak.

I feel bad about my state senator though. On his own merits he would have won; very unlucky that he was on the ballot in a year that was a referendum on whether the Dems stink or not.

And I feel really bad about the libraries -- they are already under budgets cuts; they'll be barely hanging on now

I hate that Sestak lost also.

On the other hand, if I hadn't filled out my ballot last week, Boxer would have lost my vote to the Greens, horrors of Fiorina be damned, when I had heard an asinine speech snippet where she said the current policies were turning thigns around and the economy was on the mend. Saying that, in and of itself, means she deserves to lose, in my mind. Clearly I shoulda paid more attention to stump speeches and less to weighing the merits of the previous 20 years of her career vs. her last two. I fear we'll be getting more the last two.

Sucks more than anything, congress-wise? Reid won. I'd rather have the dangerous lunatic representing the other side than him ostensibly representing liberals. ::vomits::

Seriously, there was no one I wanted to lose more than Reid, out of all the awfulness running. Awful, awful night, and the Dems won't learn a damned thing from it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Reid loses senate leadership. Angle made him bleed and the sharks are circling. Dems are very unhappy with the election results, and they will want to do a shiny "under new management!" shuffling.

That would be some consolation. =)

Of course, what I've read is much worse--starting a couple of weeks before the election, "anonymous sources" started claiming they "heard" Pelosi "would rather" retire than settle for being minority leader, and that plans are already being made for Steny Hoyer to replace her.

hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

If he and. Reid lead the two houses of congressional dems, that really might be the final death knell of the Democratic Party.

(for all Pelosi's suckage in 2008, and you can certainly argue, as my spousal unit does and I agree with, that her actions back then mean she fully deserves the personal crap she's getting hit with now, she's not been the problem the last two years; she's actually been easily the best of the Dem leaders)

PA has an outgoing Dem governor and a GOP majority. Libraries have been getting significant funding cuts since 2008 because of the economy. Now PA wll have a GOP governor and a GOP majority who are all about "cutting expenses." Libraries, health services, social services, etc are all on the chopping block. :(
