Haiku

I really should write haiku more often. They seem to really follow my particular state of mind at this time. There's no time for me to write something long, but there's so much inspiration everywhere. So, hey, here's an example. I cannot figure out if "opens" has one or two syllables for some reason. I think two. I'm stupid like that

Since when did writing haiku and smoking pot go together? I'm certain there are pot smokers who write haiku, but there are some who do not. Do you think the Japanese masters smoked pot? Probably not. Opium? Maybe, but I don't think it had been introduced to 17th-century Japan. Maybe they were a little tipsy on sake at the most.
