Hi there. I just joined this community after hearing about it on HP Girlslash. Just thought I'd introduce my self with a little description of what I'm going through. Note, if you disapprove of religion, don't read.

I don't believe in the church or God and I don't think it's a sin and you don't *choose* to be gay, lesbian, straight, bi... you *are* but every person is different in their beliefs and I respect yours and I would say to follow your heart. If you really do believe it's a sin and it's pushing you away from God then visit that ministry you mentioned.

I would give you more suggestions or talk a little more on it but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to stay neutral. The fact that I don't believe in God and think the church is bull would come through too strongly and I don't want to offend you. All I can suggest is do what you think is best and take time to think about it. Try dating men if you haven't already done that. Talk to people close to you who will help you make a decision without trying to tell you what to decide.

I hope I didn't say anything to offend you and I hope you figure it out soon.

A bisexual friend of mine came to me once about this, and I'm telling you what I told her- God loves. He doesn't choose which of his children are worthy and which are not, he loves. It says in the Bible, I do believe, that he even loves those who do not believe in him, those who have not repented.

Did not Jesus, the son of God, forgive the thief that stole his purse, and say that he would be in Heaven with God? And stealing is a sin, but he was forgiven even for stealing from Jesus.

I personally do not believe in God in the Christian sense, but many of my Christian friends, even a Catholic friend, mind you, believe that "God loves everyone" is the best answer for this.

According to the Bible, God created us all. Could he really have made a mistake when he made you love women? God doesn't make mistakes. Love is love.

Hope this helps.

I believe that there is some kind of a God or greater being but I do not like religion. However, I respect your opinion and beliefs. What I think is the best course to follow is your heart. You alone know what will help you sleep sound at night. I could not bear to live if I felt how I live my life is sinful. I think the best way to study religion is alone. You should really analyze the bible or other religious texts to come to a conclusion. Sometimes, certain groups can be biased. You seem to be aware of your flaws so you can help yourself. I myself would not like to jump into something that will try to "fix" or change my wants. But then, I think I need psychiatric help myself. ;) Hope I helped a bit.

Oh goodness, that was one of my favorite moments ever. I completely teared up. *gets choked up, remembering*

To the OP, I will say: I was raised to believe that God is Love, and the God I know accepts and cherishes love in all forms. Yes, the Bible contains verses that lecture against aspects of homosexual behavior, but it contains dozens of times more that lecture against aspects of heterosexual behavior. The same chapter in Leviticus that condemns homosexuality as an abomination, also says the same for shaving, eating shellfish, and working on Saturdays, among other things. I don't know why so many self-professed Christians have chosen to hate gay people, or homosexuality, but in my heart, I believe that their inspiration comes elsewhere than from God.

Best wishes.

I'm an atheist. I never feel guilty when I have sex. The only rational moral law to have in sexuality is consent. If you consent to it: FAIR GAME. So, to sum up: I don't believe in god, sex is awesome, and life goes on. My life rocks, now that I think of it.
