The way to get around all of that is to set a strict policy of cash only, even if people are making a $500 transaction. If no cash, just refer them to the nearest ATM. They can deal with it. That way, all you need are cash boxes, which you don't even get half the time, so all you need is change. No receipts, no nothing. That's what we do. Hmm...although this is the job that doesn't provide us with a lamp, even when it gets dark, and my boss, once on opening a ticket booth for 2, and seeing only one stool, laughs and goes, ha, fight for it!

And at least you don't have to deal with tons of old people who can never hear you, hearing device and all, who keep pointing to good seats and probably choose not to hear us when we tell them we only sell shitty seats I don't know why anyone would buy.

hmmmm, but if we did do only cash, it would be ridiculously difficult for us because we pull in a ton of money sometimes. i had a shift last week where i ended up with a deposit of over $40,000, the majority of which were checks and credit which means just adding up the total and being done w/ it. naw, i prefer dealing w/ anything but cash cuz it's easier to do and also has less of a chance of flubbin up.
btw, is this job the one you were urging me to get? hmmmm, good thing they took a while to call me back...

Tehehehe...yes. =)

Actually it's a really easy job, but yeah, dealing with cash can be kind of stressful 'cause it's easy to fuck up and we do the counts and such after we're done to make sure we balance. I mean, everytime I work, they hand me a bag of $300-$600 in non-sequential bills and they're like count your money. But still, you worry about fucking up so much that every single transaction you count the money at least 3 times so you don't. Once I ran after people 'cause I gave them an extra dollar. Hahaha...but most of the time I've been right on the money. No pun intended by the way.

i'm gonna try to get a game going sometime soon here, after all the shenanigans have died down. you will certainly get an email when it's set, tho i think our pool of players is quickly depleting.
also, out of curiosity, do accents and speech impediments and things like that mess up lip reading? i wonder how much harder it is to figure things out if, say, the person has an english accent.
