Eclectic musings on random subjects
I have to speak up about this - what is suddenly wrong with having eclectic tastes? Some people, if, say, they listen to particular kinds of music (whatever they consider "serious"), seem to think that no one who knows anything about anything should come within a mile of other kinds. Style
I realised I feel almost sorry for people who have no appreciation for literary style (hence my old "An Ear for Language" post). It seems to be a gap in one's make-up similar to being tone deaf. But it makes me wonder if there is an equivalent that I am missing that they possibly possess. Like perfect pitch? But perfect pitch is far too rare. I ( Read more... ) -

What's up with finding the research too hard? Isn't anyone just bored out of their wits, basically, and daunted by the more hands-on, physical aspects of it? Not because they are too incomprehensible, but because they require applying yourself. Actually rolling up your sleeves and getting into it.
