I don't have a chance to read all of your comments right now, but what was most alarming to me was not the actual words he said or topics he brought up, but the cold, unfeeling, uninvolved way her father spoke to her about these things and the passive insults he threw in the mix... like he didn't even have the decency to tell her his true ignorant opinion of her "life style." I always had a feeling Lauren was more thoughtful about her family situation than she let on, I always asked her about it and I could see in her avoidance of the matter that it was a long struggle for her. I have always wanted to think of what happened as an impulse during an especially bad day (even when I knew better, I knew she was not the same after the death of her Nonny), when really it so much about an exclusion from her family that she felt for much of her life.
