Offspring wants to learn Hebrew. Today i prepared our first lesson, it was lots of fun. So far my tiny knowledge is enough but i have no idea where to take her in a few weeks for future lessons. Any ideas, friends?
Nope, it's really just for mechanical reading. What L uses is also a book my cousin sent him from Israel - it's like a baby book with a lot of objects and their names in Hebrew. So after learning more about just the mechanics of Hebrew reading, L checks back with that book to see what other words he can learn.
Newton Hebrew center on Wednesdays. There are lots of Israels there. But not only. It's in that school on Brookline street . Write me on FB if you need details. I am not often here
Memorial Spaulding, 4 to 6 PM :) But it's really for Hebrew speakers. It would've worked for us perfectly from logistics point of view, and L really wants to learn Hebrew, and the teacher was willing to work with him (basically have an assistant translate whatever is necessary) - but he said he did not feel comfortable without hardly any Hebrew in an immersion environment where everyone else did understand Hebrew. http://www.merkazivri.com/
Честно, это просто сын у меня такой. В продленке уже брал испанский, хочет французский учить. Но это не я, это гены. При чем не мои :) Вот, у дочки гены мои, и у нее не так ;) Ну, а с ивритом у него вообще свои отношения, хочет все в синагоге понимать. Ну, и ему очень нравится учится читать на настолько другом алфавите - и справа налево, и огласовки вместо гласных, в общем другой мир. (Sorry for boasting, you asked for it!)
