We struggled in the first period, the Suffra Jets are a really strong team and have bout experience, this was our first game as a team with 4 rookie skaters, me included. We battled and fought as hard as we could, and closed

It was a fantastic bout! I've got the date in my diary for the next one and am going to try and round up a few folks to come along, and hopefully to the afterparty as well.

It sounds like you had the kind of game I had the first time I bouted. I was worried then, beforehand, but when I got on the track it all fell into place and I managed some big hits and perfectly-timed take-outs, and thought "Yes! I;m good at this!!".
I think this why I was a big ball of blub after the game on Saturday - this time, it didn't click for me and nothing seemed to come right at all. While I didn't goof up and do anything really stoopid like breaking one of Sky Rockit's legs, I just never managed to be in the right place at the right time to help or hinder anyone.

I don't want to blame it on being ill, although I was - it was just a very bad game for me. At least, compared to how I know I can play. I was very disappointed in myself and I felt like I let the steam rollers down because on a good day, I would have been much more useful for them.

Anyway, I've got over it now.

i thought you had a good game Kat!!! But i know what you mean. I didn't think I played very well on Saturday (even though i have been told i did)...I think it comes to having personal goals and knowing how you SHOULD play, and I didn't feel like I was on my game. Everyone has games like that, and it comes from setting high personal standards.....which is a good thing! So don't be too hard on yourself (something I am learning too!).....you played just fine!

You're right though, it does come down to how you feel you did for yourself.
