I think I would, too. I was happy to see that scene in the anime where Watari makes ice cream for the whole taskforce because L was sharing for once.

Oh, I remember reading this on ff.net! I liked Watari's line about "getting used to it" -- don't sweat it, Matsuda-san, just roll with it -- and, of course, Matsuda feeling like a total badass having just consumed one of L's lollipops.

"He wondered if Aizawa was jealous. If Ide was there, he’d definitely be jealous." This is a great line - Matsuda does strike me as the kind of person who's always desperately searching for a way to impress others, prove his worth and earn respect, something that always eludes him but he never stops trying.

Thanks! :)I agree, I see him as being very eager to please, perhaps more so than anyone else, and he desperately wants the others to respect him and is always looking for ways to prove himself.
