Bad turkey
I picked up a loaf of turkey food stuffs at the beginning of the month. It cost $3 and had a sell by date of February, which were the deciding factors in the purchase. I'd never had turkey in this form before, but I try stuff because, you never know, it might be worthwhile.
I finally cooked it today. I prepared it the same way as a similarly shaped ham thingy since it is precooked and cured (with "natural smoke flavor").
It was foul. The texture is like steam cooked elementary school hot dogs. The flavor is a lot like synthetic motor oil.
I suppose I should have anticipated something that cheap with that sort of shelf life might not be great, but for fucks sake, how do you fuck up turkey that much?
So, steer away from Festive Tender Cured Turkey.
