[Ciel has spent over 6 months now overlooking the Church under the drone priest's nose. She knew this place better than her own house; it was more or less her base. Familiarity set aside, this was actually a good place for both tactical and practical reasons. She didn't even care that food will be harder to make without a proper kitchen; there is a stove, they've brought some supplies, and it'll have to do. She'll do the errands herself if they run out of groceries; her physical aptitudes were still above average. Either way, this is serious enough to warrant her full attention

MAMA DAUGHTER TALK!!!imaginenumbersMay 28 2011, 00:29:13 UTC
*Sakura will be busy doing those minor chores like a mindless machine carrying out a task. Checking the first aid material to make sure it was still good, organizing canned goods, testing and getting familiar with the stove... her normal cheerfulness wasn't anywhere to be found. If she was a bit happier she might be mistaken for a drone.
Which brings into question how much she pushes herself everyday if this is what she's really like inside. All dried up.
Later with all of her chores complete she finds a wall to sit against and does so. Her breath slows and she closes her eyes, unable and unwilling to do much of anything else until Ciel calls on her again.*
A knight of the Emperor approaches, though he's clad in unfamiliar clothes. He's just a man, now. A large one, but nothing more. A carbine slung over one shoulder, a pistol holstered at one hip, his -very- familiar Spatha slung across the other, and a shield strapped across the back of the man in outdoorswear.
He halts well short of the church, hands open and held up. An uncharacteristically passive gesture for him.
Yeah she recognizes that figure and almost sighed. Well, it's is nature, as the self-proclaimed protector of humanity, so she supposed that it's normal, that he would want to check up on her. After letting the rest of house Batman know that this large man who is armed over there isn't harmful, she'll hop out from the side windows to come meet him by the outskirts. Her physical athleticism has been reduced, but they're still top notch in terms of regular human capacity.
Ah, she's still picking the side where there are most trees. Just to be sure...
"...Geez, it's dangerous out right now, Garviel. Checking up on us, I'd assume?" She delivers a lighthearted greeting anyway. No need to make things more tense than they already are.
"I... was. And I'm somewhat concerned, as well. Your Servant has been problematic. Prevented me from fulfilling my oath to Rin. I'm... not happy about that. I have enough people to protect already, but I don't trust Archer at all. Or how he defends Rin. Not after what Lancer told me, or the words that he spoke to me." His eyes grow cold as he remembers his conversation with Archer. A sword that asks no questions at all. How stupid, what a worthless definition of things. There can be no meaning in any battles fought by such a person.
Garviel shakes his head, "I believe there will be many bitter words spoken, after this monstrous battle has been played out to the end, Ciel. I..."
His eyes close briefly. "I would not be your enemy." He looks to the church. "I trust Sakura is well?"
"He'll protect her. His method is just one that's completely incompatible with yours and Lancer's. You don't have to trust him. In fact, I don't recommend it either: only know that he will keep Tohsaka Rin safe through all this." She replies evenly, not in the least fazed by Garviel's obvious disapproval. If anything, it would almost seem like she supports Archer more. She was his Master here, though while she never told him, he could have found out through someone else.
She was more like him than any of them, after all.
[ Churches. Probably one of Zelos's least favorite places to be. It's not the sort of thing that can unnerve him, but it's there, in the very back of his mind as he sits in a dark nook sharpening the blade of the long knife he took from the kitchen. It'd be vastly preferable to have an actual weapon, but this is close enough to a dagger to make due for the time being. And now it's just the waiting game. He's good enough at that; his whole life has been a waiting game. ]

[ Even in a place like this, even with people around to protect a place like this.. Nadeko still couldn't help but feel scared. Even though she hadn't gotten a letter at all, the idea of people being killed (by other people of this place, none the less) all around was absolutely frightening her. She has tried to help out with some small chores, but due to her anxiety couldn't really do anything.
She isn't one to let her pain or worries show too easily though (besides, it would be horribly rude to just be a bother like that on the people Taiwan asked to take care of her, the people she should be grateful towards even if she doesn't know them (except Mami) and that in itself is fairly intimidating) so she just sits there quietly while nervously glancing around. ]
[So by this point, Mami has been given some GUNZ to protect the church.
...but she's set the rifle aside for now, and there's only the semi-automatic pistol in the pocket of her skirt when she approaches Nadeko. After all, the girl looks scared enough as it is; the last thing she needs to see is Mami toting firearms around.
And that's the last thing Mami feels like explaining, also.]
[ Yes, the guns might have made her a bit unsure.. But she actually forces herself to work up a tiny smile when she spots the other girl. ]
A-ah..! Tomoe-san.. [ She actually pauses for a moment, because.. is she supposed to answer that with the truth? That she's actually really scared of what could happen, even though she's pretty much being protected here? That she's just really worried about Japan and Taiwan, who were so kind for her but now are somewhere out there, not to mention Koyomi and everyone else..
Of course she doesn't say it. ]
Hmm! I'm okay. [ And she manages to make it slightly convincing. Just slightly. ] It seems like things are a little crazy out there, but.. in here it's okay, right?

Silence. Not even a rustle of fabric.
She gives it a few seconds for Sakura to be by herself before speaking up from outside the room.]

There's something off about it, though. More than the usual subtle touch.]
Can you see all right, Mr. Wilder?

Not nearly well enough as I'd like. Have you been up to the roof or the steeple?

But she won't press, because what good would it do? She can't offer Nadeko any of the assurances she needs the most.]
Yes, we're all pretty safe here. Have you eaten anything? It might seem like a strange idea, but you need to keep your strength up.
