[ The past few days haven't been the best and this had not helped it. By the time the new letter arrived, Japan, who had begun to reconsider his intentions of going after his target- something he was still yet to accomplish successfully, for reasons he was yet to understand (morals had nothing to do with it- they were never something that got in the way)-- was slowly beginning to feel tired of this. And the fact that he was followed by fear and paranoia for his people for the rest of the entire day, then hallucinations and images from his past and things that he didn't even want to think about in passing, didn't even want to acknowledge the existence of- and then, seeing yet another corpse of one of his family's;  he has endured worse before, of course, but it was anything but pleasant. All the thoughts of actually killing his target have gone out of the window the very moment the hallucinations began to appear. He knew that even the threats were a trick of the town, anyway- Christmas taught him this. As difficult as it was for him to convince himself of this at first, eventually, he understood

He found himself carrying Taiwan in his hands yet again- this time, as a corpse. Carefully, he placed her body in the backyard on the soft, green grass and covered her with a blanket- she even looked peaceful, as though she was just sleeping. He did this, knowing full well she wouldn't revive tomorrow and wake up as normal, just like Hong Kong didn't- yet somehow, Japan was completley and absolutely certain that they'd see each other again. And then he would apologize again. That's how it always was in Mayfield- he was sure that all this was going to come to an end if in not a few days, then a week or so. And life would seemingly continue as though it never happened.

And with that done, Japan decided to take a breather and calm down. He went out into his front porch and stood there for a moment, then closed his eyes and with an exhausted sigh, leaned back against the closed door to the house. This was supposed to be only a short moment of rest- after which he'd get to work and continue running around town trying to help all his people. He decided that this would be his job now- and if it should kill him, so be it. But for that moment, he completley let his guard down as he mulled over in his mind over the events of the past few days. ]

( ooc: I talked this out with her mun-- Taiwan has been auto-killed off-screen. )
