Ahh, the sweet smell of morning air... the sound of birds chirping, of the creak of floorboards as the children began to stir, and...
...Moans of the... undead, their faces pressed to the window panes of their quaint little abode?
Abel gave a jolt, just about tripping off the couch in his shock at the sight before him from his clear vantage point at the living room, the front windows giving him a perfect glance at what had already overtaken the city before he'd roused his lazy ass from 'bed.'
"E-- Esther?" He calls, trying to keep his voice level to avoid disturbing the younger occupants of the household, narrowly avoiding faceplanting as his foot caught on the corner of the coffee table in an effort to hoof it toward the bedroom. He knows he really shouldn't just barge in, but she was usually an early riser and locked the door if she was, ah. Indecent. He jiggles the door handle insistantly, tossing another glance over his shoulder for the front door -- yes, it's locked. But would they be able to break through?
Lord, where had they come from? He should get her on the phone to find out, perhaps-- but they needed to board up the entrances and exits for now -- and fast.
"Esther, are you awake? It's-- Abel. Please open up!"
