It could be from th' canister Pyro carries around. I'm sure if we lit it on fire we'd take all 'f Mayfield with us.

*He'll pour a glass of poison for himself. It's a party afterall.*

I give Scout about 20 minutes before he's chunderin' all over his floor from this.

[ She looks at the glass, and back at Sniper. ] I think that's enough for me, though. It's a different hit than the moonshine.

[ She sets the glass on a stable surface away from heat sources and gets a glass of water. ]

Don't go fallin' over now.

*Because if he drinks all he poured for himself he won't be in any state to do anything other than laugh about it.*

Nope, that's why I'm stopping at two, and switching to water. Pyro said something about putting on a show with his counterpart, and I brought the first aid kit.

[ She shrugs, ] Him, I trust his control, but I haven't seen her work, yet.

I haven't seen him drink since he got here, not even at dinner... but he hasn't turned his nose up at coq au vin or bœuf bourguignon, either.

*Cue the suddenly suspicious look.*

At what now?

[ She smiles, ] That first one is chicken in wine and the second is beef burgundy. I haven't tried him on any Cuban, Cajun or Japanese dishes, mostly for lack of good substitutes for the ingredients. He hasn't really requested anything for dinner, and half the time he's not home. [ Her smile dims slightly, and she covers it by sipping her water. ]

He who?

*You've lost him by talking about food. It ranks somewhere around watching paint dry on his list of interests.*

Oh. My sympathies on that one.

Guess it's better than havin' a bunch of brainwashed drones in your house. I'm 'alf tempted t' lock th' lot of 'em in the basement and forget about 'em.

He's not as bad as some I've met here. The kids are drones now, but they were aware earlier.

So all these chipper perfect family types used t' be actual people? That's a mite unsettling.

*And as good an excuse as any for how much he's going to be drinking tonight.*

[ She doesn't look too comfortable with that thought, either. Unsignaled subject change! ]

I take it you just arrived?
