Canon Update - Zevran Arainairogue_crowJune 21 2010, 18:54:24 UTC
Name: Callie Character Name: Zevran Arainai Canon: Dragon Age: Origins Housing Change: Staying the same~ Reason for Canon Update: I took Zevran pre-game for several reasons; for one, how the game itself goes varies significantly depending on how it's played, and the main character themselves - an important figure to Zevran, given that they're the one who spares his life(in fact, whether or not Zevran's life is spared at all is an in-game choice) - can be highly customized(sex, race, background, appearance, name, etcetera), to say nothing of the fact that how Zevran thinks to him depends on whether the PC earned his approval, or potentially began a romantic relationship with him, over the course of the game. Even the ending of the game can go several ways, which makes it pretty difficult to play Zevran post-game unless I decide the outcome of all the crossroad events, since none of them are made for you

Canon Update - Zevran Arainai 2/3?rogue_crowJune 21 2010, 18:55:13 UTC
(I'm not going to go into the specifics of much of the game here, because Zevran personally doesn't have a huge role in most of the main storyline quests and detailing them would basically just boil down to a summary of the entire game, which would be a hell of a lot of tl;dr about events he was only a supporting character for. The only effect they have on him is whether or not he approves of the choices the Warden makes in regards to them, and what he'll remember them having been in Mayfield. But for the sake of laying out those choices officially: he will recall their siding unconditionally with the Dalish elves against the werewolves attacking them, supporting Harrowmont and getting him crowned the dwarven king, preserving the Anvil of the Void, sparing Flemeth and lying to Morrigan about it, saving the surviving mages of the Circle Tower, and freeing the elves of Denerim from the slavers. The last isn't hugely significant game plot-wise, but it's clearly an important decision to Zevran, so I'm noting it

Canon Update - Zevran Arainai 3/3rogue_crowJune 21 2010, 18:55:42 UTC
Updated Personality: Zevran's personality will be very similar post-game to how it was pre-game, with only a few minor alterations. Having made friends he can trust, and having eventually become trusted himself, he is now more open to the idea of trusting others, and is a bit less paranoid(though no less likely to plan ahead with paranoia in mind, if only because it's almost always better to be cautious); further, he has spent a lot of time in the service of the Wardens and seen a lot of altruistic acts on their part, to say nothing of having been removed from the Crows for awhile, so he might be a bit nobler of intention than he used to be, and more likely to only kill when necessary. Technically, he was already reluctant to kill anyone without good cause prior to his update, but that was for largely self-serving reasons - being trapped in a town where the person you killed will come back and potentially seek revenge was a significant concern for him, and still will be, but now he will also take the morality of it into consideration
