On Christmas morning, Death will find a stocking with a note attached.
Dear Death,
It's the least I can do.
Merry Christmas,
Santa Claus
Inside the stocking is a key to his bedroom. If he unlocks his bedroom door using the key, he will suddenly be transported to a different life. He will be a human man with human feelings and human emotions. He'll experience human happiness as he prepares his home for a holiday visit from his daughter, his son-in-law, and his young granddaughter.
He'll experience it as a human when he receives the news that all three of them died in a carriage accident.
Just a few questions. Can he return to Mayfield and will he still be human or think he's human? Or will he just have the memories of being human and having his family die?
I WISH I UNDERSTOOD HUMANS BETTER.
