News for Slam Dunk fans!
So just a few days ago, I posted that it's not likely to be any SD sequel, right?
Me and my big mouth :P Looks like I might be wroooooooooooong after all *squeeeee*
But I really don't want to feel betrayed or heartbroken so Must. Keep. Composure...
OMG, BUT POSSIBLE SD SEQUEL!! XD
How can I not react to that?!?!?
Ok, here's the whole story.
I'm in this super huge Slam Dunk comm (67,845 members and still growing) in the biggest Japanese blog and this guy who seems to have a common friend with Inoue Sensei (lucky bastard! XD) posted that now that "Vagabond" is about to finish, Inoue sensei's working on a new project and it's Slam Dunk sequel!!
That's all he said but it was enough to make a huuuuuge commotion in the comm as you can imagine and I'm still in total disbelief. WANT MORE DETAILS!! XD
But truth be told, I have mixed feelings about this. Don't you??
Some say, they wouldn't mind if there're new characters altogether and only mentions of Hanamichi and Rukawa (as NBA stars or in the way of their stardom no less *g*) cos the way it ended was just perfect. Others claim, they definitely wanna read the continuation of SD with Rukawa and Hanamichi. Some handful say, they don't want any sequels at all.
At this point, there are so many possibilities and speculations. I'm simply ALL too excited at the prospect of SD sequel but at the same time, a tad scared. Ah, I just don't wanna be heartbroken or disappointed if this statement isn't true.
I think the Sannoh game was a perfect way to end it. But still, it left me craving for more! Ah, anything by Inoue Takehiko will be great, no doubt. Whatever it is it's out next, I'll be reading it X3 Mark my words! *hee* But if there's going to be SD sequel at all, I think he's going to use new characters altogether. I feel a finality so strong from the SD "10 Days After" documentary. But who knows. We can still dream, ayt?? XD I love Hanamichi and Rukawa combo so damn much and there're still lots to explore about them, IMHO <333 (They are the Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen of Kanagawa!!)
I couldn't contain my happiness that I decided to share with all the SD fans on my f-list in case it's true!

[ETA] According to the latest news on Inoue Takehiko's official site dated Sept. 30th, vol. 24 of "Vagabond" along with two Illustration Books will be out by Oct. 23rd. The 6th volume of "REAL" will be published by Nov. 17th! There'll be an interview with Inoue sensei on Switch Magazine next month, out in Nov. 20th. Loads of Inoue goodies for the following two months <33 Stay alert, y0!
Might I add, he mysteriously left a cliffhanger note saying that he has two new announcments to make for his next update... *heart skips* Could it be...?!?!?! OMG!!! It's killing me XD
