I'm not even among those that think fan fiction is outright copyright violation, and I still think [[this]] is a bad idea. People are doing a good job of saying why no, as well as no, (save for a few that are being uneccessarily rude IMNSHO), but to be clear, if you don't want your work to be considered, you can opt out [[here]].

fandom needs an intervention

I thoroughly agree that some people are being unnecessarily rude. It's not as if this is a TERRIBLE BAD PERSON who's trying to be hurtful. She's just someone who had a very bad idea.

Thankfully, most people seem to have been mostly polite. I kinda wanna thwap the people that are spitting vitrol -- the poor girl isn't the first person in the history of time to have a bad idea with good intentions.

I Get that people have their knickers in a twist, and i wasn't without criticism, but there's some people who are just being nasty without any real reason. Bad idea. No thanks. Gets the idea across pretty well I think.

Not that I have anything to worry about, but yeah, I agree that the idea is pretty much in the 'epic fail' category. Why do people have to be so bitchy when a simple 'thanks but no thanks' would suffice is beyond me.

You've got me, Dawn. Then again, most of the time (not always, but mostly) I don't get why people get bitchy for things that seem otherwise innocuous.

Likely posted by those who are reporting it to FW as we speak. Some people just have nothing better to do with their time and energy. Mostly those people make me want to punch them far more than this chica.
