IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES

so what you'll have everyone fill up their gas tank the day before or the day after... increasing their average daily profits... making up for what they wont make on the 19th?
dumb idea... only because we need gas to move our cars to move us around and whether we all do or don't buy it on the 19th... we're still buying it... I mean even if we got rid of cars and switched to mass transit we'd STILL be paying one way or another. I mean we can't really "stick it to them" unless we get rid of all motor vehicles completely. yep.
and if we "stick it to them" by getting rid of ALL motor vehicles we're just sticking it to ourselves really. 1) we couldn't really go anywhere far(do you really want to stay here for the rest of your life?) and 2) a lot of fucking people would be out of work either because a. they worked for the car companies or were mechanics or they drove cars/buses/trains ect. for a living or b. they have no way of getting to work. The average american drives 25 minutes to get to work... any idea how long it would take to walk or ride a bike the distance you would go in driving 25 minutes?
Wellllllll all I want to happen is them to lower gas prices...I mean come on...30 bucks doesn't even fill your tank anymore. That's RIDICULOUS! Think about how fast gas goes too. I've went through a full tank in 2 days.
I won't disagree that gas prices are high. But at the same time this hasn't stopped me from driving just as much as ever before. Have you quit driving as much? Has anyone? I don't know about you... but I know most people haven't let this stop them from driving. Most people can't let this stop them(work/school/other important stuff). It's a somewhat harsh reality but it could be worse. Gas prices are by far one of the least of my concerns, if a cercern at all. I won't be pissed unless they hit 3 dollars like I've been told. And then I won't really be pissed, I'll just cut back on the amount of driving I do
