Teddy's almost 6 months now (just 8 more days!).  He's sitting up fairly well on his own--you just have to watch to make sure he doesn't reach too far to the side because then he falls over.  We took him to Dragon*Con and dressed him up as the Hulk, Baby Stig from Top Gear, and Nibbler from Futurama.  He also wore Batman and Firefly themed clothes

Teething can cause babies to refuse to eat. I know Alicia will refuse sometimes b/c it hurts to suck. We give her Hyland's Teething Tabs and then she'll eat like normal. I think there's also a Wonder Week or growth spurt or something around 6 months that causes them not to eat as much - several people on my Baby Center March Babies board were posting about it a week ago. If it continues more than a week or so and teething remedies don't work, then I'd seek out doctor's advice (even if it's after your 6-month check).

Also, most breastfed babies of moms who work do something called "reverse cycling" where they eat more at night to make up for what they don't get during the day. So I'd encourage that (at least during your normal waking hours) to make up for the calories he's not getting during the day.
