NEWS talks about the LIVE album and concert in 2010 Oct Duet Translation
Duet asked NEWS about how they feel about the new LIVE album and concert!
NEWS' album is full of "LIVE" feelings, it's finally complete!
Q. What kind of album is "LIVE"?
Yamashita - I believe it is an album which brings together a strong "group" feeling. Everyone wil be able to hear the birth of "NEWS' voice", where six voices become one. I highly recommend the "Unplugged LIVE" DVD that is included in the limited edition! It is a mature, live performance with a backing band and no dancing involved. Just singing was fresh, and so much fun!
Koyama - In regards to the title "LIVE", starting from September 18 the live performances for the album, and also means "to live". For us to be living now, in short, it's only living large once!
Nishikido - Just saying the album title "LIVE", I think that you'll be looking forward to us being lively at our live concerts!!
Kato - The recording of the "Unplugged LIVE" DVD that is included in the limited edition has a song called "Share" which was created by us 6 members. You will also like the album jacket shots using newspaper props too.
Masuda - This time, our long awaited album is full of great songs. In the special DVD, we took a musician's approach and sang with a live band. As NEWS, this was the first time we've done this sort of promotional footage, but it was OK after one take. It was so relieving~! More so, it's been a while since we last sang together as 6 members, it was OK in one shot? "I knew that NEWS was good~" was the feeling I got.
Tegoshi - It's been about 1 year and 10 months since our last album "color"!? It's been that long? But, we had "Koi no ABO" and "Sakura Girl", but we never got to sing them in concert. In the album, like the title says, there are a lot of songs to get fired up during a live performance. Especially the singles "Koi no ABO" and "Sakura Girl" will surely fired up the fans!
Q. Please tell us your favourite song from the album!
Yamashita - "Endless Summer". I like the melody.
Koyama - "LIVE", the song GReeeeN's JIN-san offered to produce for us. There's no mistaking the title, it'll be a fired up song during the live! Also, the song about the boy who chases his dreams, singing with straight-forward feelings is "Endless Summer" is a song I recommend.
Nishikido - Hmm... I like them all, but it has to be "Koi no ABO" and "Sakura Girl" I think.
Kato - The song that I keep hearing "When will it be released!?", "BE FUNKY!" the song to the drama "Trouble Man". For me, it's a song with deep feelings, I'm very happy that it has been recording this time!
Masuda - I think "Koi no ABO". It will fire up things during the concert. In short, the lyrics are about compatibility, which is something girls would like.
Tegoshi - I like "Aki no Sora". This is a deep ballad and is acoustic. That's why there's a certain atmosphere to it. We put our feelings into it when we sing, and when we sing it strikes our hearts perhaps... kind of like "I'm tired of being down~".
Q. You are starting your dome concerts on September 18. Tell us of your enthusiasm!
Yamashita - "I'm so happy that I went to the NEWS live!", I want a stage where everyone who has come to see us will leave with smiles on their faces. 6 people, 6 different personalities, I hope you will be able to feel the power when we combine the strengths of 6 people!
Koyama - In my personal opinion, everyone will have a chance at singing during "Koi no ABO" , the opportunity has finally come, I'm so happy. Shouting out "YOUtachi, nani gata?" at the Dome! (laugh). Of course along with the new album songs, we will also sing songs since our debut and how that will be sung now, we've thought about every organizational detail. Anyway this time, I think we can increase the number of highlights!
Nishikido - I'm looking forward to the concert! It's been a while, so I'm going with a "live" feeling!
Kato - It's been a long awaited concert. The feelings of singing at the Domes, I'm a little worried (laugh). It's been 2 years, so we'll get 2 years worth of fun feelings, everyone had a lot of ideas and we brought them all together. Let's have the best time together!
Masuda - We're going to big places~. I'm looking forward to it. Because, I'll be able to see lots of fans. Let's share a big, big time together, and make the day special! With my feelings, Dome concerts, I'll be glad to take you!
Tegoshi - About the Dome, I really want to shorten the distance between us and the guests. But, physically that shoudn't matter... actually, on the contrary we should utilise it, and slowly everyone can be involved, that would be good. I hope the girls who come would think "It was "Dome", but they held (the live) here!?". I'm waiting for you to come with expectations.

I'm not exactly sure what Shige means during the first question. Either he forgot that "Share" was on the regular edition with no DVD, or it was filmed during the Unplugged Concert and didn't make the final cut (It might be in the making footage?) I'm not sure, so don't quote me on it, mere speculation XD
And I agree with Koyama! Yelling out "YOUtachi, nani gata?" during the concert would be SO AWESOME! :D
