Global Warming?

Jul 23, 2006 12:50

Holy fuck! I'm checking weather.com for Tujunga yeaserday. It was 123 degrees here yesterday! The record high before was 104. Yes -- 19 degrees over the fucking record! And 11 degrees over the record high for the month.

Umm... wow.

Or live in biospheres. Maybe that'll happen.

Biospheres would be cool, until the crazy smelly hippies (and not the cool kind of crazy smelly hippies) took over.

It was over 120F outside in Altadena yesterday. That's where my thermometer stops. Holy cow!

There'll be all sorts of attempts at "biospheres" and the like. For every person in a "biosphere" or the much more common walled town there will be 100,000 on the outside clamoring to get in. It's going to be great. Starving people generally don't see "the big picture". So, while the grey-bearded leader of "New Eden" informs the crowd that they should have "thought ahead" like we did... Well, once starvation sets in, it doesn't matter how many guns they have. In a choice between starving to death or getting shot, most people will take the cahnce of getting shot, and some of them will get through, and there goes your "New Eden" and your "Biosphere 2010" and "Walden III", etc... It's gonna be great. Wanna see your future? Watch Zombie Movies!

And I was bitching because it's 106 here :P I'm seriously considering a move to the coast where it stays around 65 summer & winter ;) I suppose the land & rental prices out there just took a jump though, maybe I'll wait until winter when we get our 70-85 inches of rain and all the roads wash out on the coast - prices should drop then! Miss ya Jim! ((hug))

Ha! moving to the coast. Won't that suck when the sea level rises 300 feet?

Yeah, if you were in SF/LA, but here the cliffs are 200+ feet, so you pick a nice hill a bit back from the ocean and wait for the waterfront view. I suppose it'd be funny to build a deck that looked an awful lot like a pier....
