*I mumble as I throw items into two leather bags..

* What am I forgettin'. I know there's something. There always is.

*I paw through the bag*

Nightshirts, clean breeches, clean shirts, lube, biscuits, some wine for the road, lube, apples, bread, cheese..... Hmm.. looks good ( Read more... )

*I continue to gather clothing items for my bag*

What fun! We haven't been on a trip for so long! Though walking to Tuckborough isn't likely to be much of an adventure. *hastens to add* For which I am MOST grateful!

*I look sadly at the mound of food, equipment and garments we have piled on a table*

Yes, I think we DO need the wagon.

*my eyes swing from the piled up table to the bags that are already half full*

Ohh, my stars! You're right.

*I sigh and shake my head... *

I'd better run up to 3 Bagshot and ask Froie for his wagon.

*I dash out the door... and walk quiclky down the road to 3 Bagshot, where my eldest son lives. Not hearing anything inside, I bang on the door.*

Froie!! Wake up, lad!

*I hear a loud pounding on the door and wipe the sleep from my eyes... *

What the....

*Then I hear my father's voice and mutter...* Ohh stars and glory!! What does he.....

*I stumble from my bed and dash to open the door...*

POPPA! Stop bellowing! You'll wake half the Shire. I'm here.

*I stare, bleary eyed, at my father for a moment, then usher him in*

Come on in, Pop. What do you want?

*I grin at my sleepy son, and smile as I look around his lovely smial*

Son, Mr. Frodo and I are takin' a walking trip to Tuckborough for the festival there. We need your wagon, son. We're taking a fair bit of stuff. You know how Mr. Frodo over-packs. *I roll my eyes*

*thinks about what Froie said.. *

Well, I've a good, strong club in my walking stick.. which would be enough to run off most dangers. But a warg...

*I sigh* We've our swords, tho we haven't carried them in long ages.. not wanting to be reminded of the time when we HAD to carry them. Sweet Eru, I hope that time hasn't come again.

*I pull the wagon up to the door of Bag End*

Frodo! I've come with the wagon, love.

*I walk into our smial... *

*I smile brightly at you as you enter* That didn't take long. And I'm almost packed!

I am going to bring along my Elven cloak. It is so light yet warm. *I hold up the cloak for Sam's inspection*

Did you tell your son where we are going? In case he inherited the Gamgee worrying gene. *I smile and wink at you*

*I shake my head and smile at you* He's got it and that's a fact. Already worryin' about wargs and whatever else might cross our path.

*I touch his cloak.. marveling at how fine the fabric remains after all these years*

The Elven cloak is a fine idea. I might take mine too.

*I ponder for a moment then look into Frodo's eyes*

Frodo? Should we take our swords?

*I grab an armful of items to take to the wagon.. *

*I laugh merrily* Swords? Oh my, no! Why drag them out of the mothballs? They are so heavy and would only weigh us down.

*I notice Sam's serious expression*

Um...on second thought...good idea. Where are they?
