Normally, I'm really impatient. Waiting and feeling like there's nothing I can do to speed things along can be really frustrating for me. Maybe I am still impatient.. but I think I'm learning how beneficial it can be to wait on some things ( Read more... )

If there was a god, dont you think you should be saving your prayers for something like world peace and ending starvation. So selfish of you to take up gods time with your nonsense. You are better off praying to your graduate director rather than an invisible man with a beard who sits up in the clouds waiting eagerly to cater to your every whim.

God doesn't work on our time, He's outside of time. And He hears all prayers, so asking for help on a major life decision isn't uncalled for.
And who's to say I wasn't already praying for world peace and the end of starvation and cures for HIV and everything else that's wrong in the world?
I'm sorry you don't agree with my views on God, but I'm not going to tell you what to think and I expect the same respect from who, whoever you are.

Im curious how you are an expert on what "time-zone" god lives in?
I find it remarkable how so-called educated people, such as yourself, believe in this sham known as religion. It is the only instition out there that expects you to believe in a all mighty power who hears AND cares about every little action of every being on this planet, who holds a tablet with him with 10 simple rules by which his minions must abide by, and demands you to pay money to his places of worship...
It is clear that telling you what to think does not work for you, as it seems all logic and rationality has escaped your current method of thinking.
Besides, dont you "think" whatever happens, happens? Right? Its all gods plan...
So what the hell are you praying for? For him to mess up his plan? You think what he had in mind for you isnt good enough?

My knowledge of God comes from the Bible. One reference for you as to God's relation to time: Genesis 1: before the earth and the heavens existed, God was there to create them. I won't bother you with more references, but it's there in the scriptures.

What I do believe about God and his plan is that He works all things for the good of those who love him (Romans chapter 8) yet He has chosen to give us Free Will so we aren't little robots doing exactly what he wants.
What about my faith bothers you so much? Why would you use logical fallacies like personal attack to make your point?
Seriously, why can't we just agree to disagree on this?
