Hunters Moon

Hunters Moon, a multi-household camping event we have had for the past five Octobers, was fun in a much more laid back way this year than in the past. Sadly, Izzie's farm is sold, so we had to move locations. Happily, the new location is also nice (a bit rocky) and just outside Murfreesboro instead of more than an hour away in Lynchburg. So, that ( Read more... )

We were really disappointed to miss Hunter's Moon, but all three of us had some variation of a belly-flu bug. :(

I'm so glad you had a good time! And I would love to see this site. Where is it? I agree that some SCA events would be fine on such a primitive site. Cheap prices + alcohol are excellent reasons, as well as the opportunity to learn about cooking over a fire.

It is just south of Murfreesboro, heading towards Woodbury. It's out on a long and windy road that makes you hear banjos in your head while driving ;-)

It's Bill-Bill's dad's farm, if that helps any. It has a lot more trees (and rocks) than Brooke's place did, but several good clearing areas. We used one for the kitchen and firepit area and the other for kids activities, including the pumpkin carving.

Sounds fabulous! I'm glad your first experience with a handgun was with Michal and Jimmy. They'd know exactly what you should try, and I felt safe when I went out shooting with Michael my first time. So good stuff.

I really miss camping events. Hell, I really miss EVENTS in general. Maybe someday I'll get to come back. We need to talk about that...

Thanks for the updates. It's good to see what people are up to. I feel like I'm sooo far out of the loop! We should get together sometime. Catch up and hang out. Maybe make some beads? I've got my own setup, for the most part, and that could be fun...

{{hugs}} Miss you.

Anytime you want to come back to events, just let me know. I'm fer it! ;-)

Bead making would be fun. I just have a hard time getting out of the 'Boro after I get home from work. If your schedule slows down at all, you and Don should come down some evening. Or maybe we could meet for dinner halfway in Smyrna, now that they have tons of restaurants. We do that with Jimmy and Kelley sometimes. I'd like to get to know Don better, and it's always great to see you.

Naturally it's not just as easy as "hey, come to this event" with me anymore. Just the way it is... :(

Evenings are tough for us too, because by the time Don gets home we're making dinner for Max..and by the time we've made and ate dinner, it's already 8pm. lol Gotta love a busy household. And eating out right now has proven to be a HORRIBLE idea. Don't even get me started on how frustrated I am with my food experiences lately.

We'll figure something out. Someday..
