I usually see book knowledge as related to personal interaction. I don't read something without bouncing what I took from that reading off of someone later...like you, for instance.
Also, I see the value of book learning (for myself) as opening me to new perspectives on God (regardless of what subject or author I am reading). Thus, if I learn to think about Christ in a new way due to something that I have read, that will influence how I relate to people.
I don't mean to come across as sounding like I'm divorcing book knowledge and personal interaction.

I was returning books which I checked out earlier in the semester. I also ate at A Thai Spoon, which was great.
Then I forgot where I parked, and walked around UGA's campus for ALMOST 2 HOURS!!! And the weird thing was, I kept walking in loops that lead me back to the intersection of Sanford and Cedar. It was weird, I couldn't get away from that intersection.
