Here is my translation of this lovely Juntoshi article!
Ohno Satoshi x Matsumoto Jun
Vol. 82 [Beach Arashi]
"Take some nice, summery pictures!" This was the the situation Sakurai-kun chose for us, the beach. So that's where Ohno-kun x Matsumoto-kun gathered on a hot and sunny afternoon, wearing thier fresh, casual fashion. The two had fun chatting idly and splashing cold water on each other. After thoroughly enjoying a relaxing summer day, they shared with us some of their personal memories of the sea!
Marine Sports, Reading, Eating, I want to experience the beach's full-course!
Matsumoto: Ahh, this was the perfect vacation experience (!?) for this midsummer day! It was the best. (laughs)
Ohno: It sure was. Made me feel like going to the beach on my own time (nodding).
Matsumoto: I heard my family went to the beach a lot when I was a kid. I don't remember much but we still have lots of pictures.
Ohno: Same here. My grandpa took pictures of me fishing when I was a kid. But when I think about it, in the past I was more of a pool guy rather than the beach.
Matsumoto: I get that! The best part about the pool is that you could play there all day and you wouldn't get all sticky and dirty (laughs). I think I was really into those waterslide-type attractions.
Ohno: Those are fun, aren't they~? I liked going to the part of the pool where the water flows in and getting swept away by the force of it (laughs).
Matsumoto: Out of Arashi, the one who suits the ocean the most is of course Leader. Have you gone at all lately?
Ohno: I did go fishing recently. It flet so nice dozing off waiting for a bite.(musical note) As for the members...for Aiba-chan it's Chiba, for Sho-chan I have an image of
Shounan, but since they've become adults I don't think they've gone much.
Matsumoto: Yeah, plus Nino usually gets seasick.
Ohno: And MatsuJun you were often in charge of the tough ocean photoshoots (laugh)
Matsumoto: That's right. My first try at body boarding I was swallowed by violent waves, I got stuck diving and searching for treasure for the longest time and without ever finding anything (laughs). Now that I think about it, those were some pretty harsh experiences but despite them I still like the ocean. I like it because it is such a difference from usual environment and it leaves me feeling so fresh and new. When I tried diving, the scenery I saw in the ocean was so mysterious, I could never forget it!
Ohno: It's moving, isn't it? I even sat crosslegged on the seabed to take in the scenery (laughs).
Matsumoto: Of course you would (laughs). Next I want to try those fly boards that are powered by water pressure and let you fly into the air. Marine sports with some speed to them are so exciting (musical note). Though I don't want to give up reading a book on the beach, eating lunch at a beach house and just relaxing either.
Ohno: (happily) Eating ramen and curry at the beach is delicious, right?
Matsumoto: Can't get enough! Leader, where is the best beach spot that left an impression on you?
Ohno: Maybe Okinawa. When I went there 4 years ago the ocean was right in front of the hotel. So I got to space out on the beach, barabecue, snorkel, go fishing on a kayak. Really got to experience the full-course.
Matsumoto: Amazing. If I were to choose, I'd have to say Hawaii. We did our debut interview, we've been there a lot for location shoots, it's a place full of memories for me. When we go there in September for our Hawaiian concert, I hope all 5 of us can go explore all the nice greenery there again like we did before.
Ohno: If we can go to the beach, what should we do?
Matsumoto: Given that we our supporters for the World Cup Volleyball team, naturally we should play beach volleyball, right? (grinning) It'll be a serious match!
Hope you like it!
