I think guests spend enough money on the couple, so having to go buy a whole new outfit would just be adding to that and I don't think that's fair. I also don't think the couple would expect you to do that either.

I've personally never heard of the "no white" rule (and just looked over some photos of weddings I've been to and saw women in full white skirts), so I really don't think the small amount of white on your outfit would cause a problem... And if it does, then that means the people getting married are rude and don't deserve you as a friend anyway. :)

Have fun! xoxo

Thanks Amanda! Glad to hear about the photos showing guests wearing white - that's what I was hoping for. I'm sure my friend will be cool but it's also family (Max's family) where there's older, more traditional/ conservative people as well.

But it sounds like I'll be okay, so thanks.

I'm with Brat on this one. There's not enough white in the outfit to be meaningful. It's certainly dressy enough to wear to an evening wedding - I'd wear it. Stop worrying and just go and enjoy. and *HUGS*

That outfit is totally fine. The no-white thing is really to stop people from wearing all-white dresses that would compete with the bride's. But that isn't the case here. Have fun!
