How do I love this fic? let me count the ways:

1. I really respect the fact that while you're a Guy/Marian shipper, you are not whitewashing or romanticizing the forced marriage that a G/M marriage would have been at this point. I love the way Marian keeps drifting away somewhere else -- even to her 13-year-old self -- to avoid thinking of the wedding, and the way she keeps hoping Robin will save her, and the way the ring feels like a heavy weight on her hand. And the way she stays out of a sense of honor and obligation, and awareness that she can use her position to help people. The little bit of positive emotion from Marian toward Guy -- the pleasure she takes in his adoration, and her hope that she can use it to help bring out his potential for goodness -- also feels very right ( ... )

Thank you for putting so much thought into this review - this story was understandably difficult to get 'just right', so your comments are very reassuring.

Yay! I have rationalized my Dream!canon. :-D You know, the one where Marian and Guy learn to get along and love each other and better each other and cope with their dark sides and have lots of gorgeous black-haired, blue-eyed kids running around Locksley and they live happily/angst-ily ever after... :P
