So, I need to do some research into meeting room scheduling solutions for work. Something web-based, so everyone and their dog can at least see what is available when, even if they can't actually book it (as opposed to harassing the receiptionist just to find out). We're on an exchange server, so we just set up the room as a resource there...covers our needs in a smallish office (50+ folks) just fine.

Wait for the campus-wide Exchange service to go online. Then all faculty and staff can view the calendars we already have in place.

I was once visiting a company that had a great thing: an LCD screen by each meeting room door, facing the hallway. It showed room name/number/capacity, current date/time, the room's phone extension, and an updated-in-real-time day-view calendar of who's booked what for that room.

I wish I'd gotten a chance to get details on it.

Outlook works fine on an exchange server - give the room a profile and its booked as a resource with its calendar viewable by all.
