They do have snack-vending machines! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=83788&id=592257385
The bidets are hilarious though. I succumbed to trying one...couldn't last longer than a split second! :P

I'm jealous you got to try okonomiyaki! I've only tried that as a flavour of chips...odd, I know.

Anyway, very good to hear that you enjoyed your trip, and another (this time late) congrats on the house. :D

OMG yes! I took a photo of one of those too. My friend tried the chips, he wasn't too impressed, I think they were rather soggy!

So yeah, I did see the occasional snack machine, but here the ratio is maybe 2:1 (drinks to snacks), whereas there it's like ... 100:1 maybe :)

Wow, okonomiyaki chips! That sounds crazy, I'd love to try them.

Edit: *cough* I couldn't quite bring myself to try the bidet!! Seemed a bit scary/strange, and our japanese friend warned us that it shoots up really high so you shouldn't stand up to try and escape it!

Oh, you mean those snack machines. Yeah, I never saw any of those! I only took a picture of that one cause I've never seen a hot-foods vending machine before.

I couldn't bear to try it the first time I was in Japan either. I suppose it's a normal thing for them, but it...just tickled! TMI, I'll stop. :P They do have the coolest technology for the most random things, though! I remember using a hand-dryer that literally took three seconds to completely dry my hands.
