My crap life!

Oh dear. Not doing too well at the moment! Have a very busy weekend ahead of me moving all my stuff from North to West London on my own using public transport! Not sure how many journeys it will be, but I estimate over ten. I can't afford a van or taxi and everyone I can think of who owns a car is busy this weekend. I'm also getting further and ( Read more... )

Sorry life is not anywhere near as good as it should be, although why you thought moving to London would make it any different, I'm not sure.

I'm surpised you could find anybody to help you either. Surely the amount of public transport journeys you're gonna have to make would have paid for a hire car!

Russ- I don't have the same emotional attachment to Luton that you do. I spent less than 2 years in Luton compared to nearly 13 in London and nearly 18 in Sussex. Most of my close friends live in Brighton or London. Luton and Herts just had memories of 2 failed relationships. The bad memories of the area far overrode the good, so can you understand that I had to move. I'm glad I'm in London as it is much closer to where I want to be. I didn't expect everything to miraculously get better once I moved to London. That's just plain silly, though I did expect to have a job by now. Not a good time for anyone to be unemployed! If I was still in Luton, I'd be having the same problems, but would feel more isolated and away from my close friends and family and obviously still being reminded of all the bad things that happened while I lived there and Herts. The good thing about London is the Travelcard. I'll never have to pay more than the price of a Travelcard each day. Van hire is so much more expensive than that!

Yeah, I know other people are having a hard time too. I think what is making things particularly so stressful is having to move so frequently and having to sort everything out by myself, on top of being in debt. Most weekends consist of me sitting at home on my own as I can't even afford to go and see friends. I have been going for temping work and even factory work, but still nothing. My nursing registration lapsed last year and I can't afford to renew it. It was also making me very ill, so very sadly I can't go for jobs I'm trained to do. I'm sure things will pick up, but it's a horrible time waiting.
