Because I feel I should update at least once a week.

I just have to find something to rant about and I don't have time for that with the internship.

...So here's a bit more about that.

The first week is almost done. I don't have any classes tomorrow because the one I was supposed to have isn't there this week.

I'm going to the school anyway though to have a talk about the class 7.c and with it's class ( Read more... )

Poor Maz :( Sorry to hear that you had to yell at the brats. :(

But at least it sounds like you're taking steps to make the whole experience better for both you and them. After all, if you say that you're disconnected from the ones on 4th and 5th row, then no wonder that they are noisy...

Interesting, I think that most kids are noisy because of lack of discipline also. Parents tend to call lack of discipline "allowing a child to be creative."

Cathetet... as far as I know that's a painful way to catch pee. So interesting way to describe a classroom desk cage.

LOL I thought it mend the same as in Danish where a "kateder" = "teachers desk"

Nope, it is an extremely painful way to extract urine. They insert a tube into your um, peehole and as you are screaming from the sheer agony of it, then the tube forcibly extracts pee.

I only had it done the once. I don't really recommend it as a cool thing to do if you're bored.

P.S. They say after they remove the tube. "If there is blood in your urine for the next few days that is normal..."

WTF

You yelled at them? They probably deserved it. I've done that too once or twice and I always felt bad about it afterwards. Loosing your cool in the classroom is just not cool. But, sometimes kids just don't believe that you mean business unless you yell at them a bit. Just don't do it very often, or it loses it's shock value ( ... )

Good luck with them!:)

Thanks.

We're going to rearrange the furniture next Thursday.

You know, I actually forgot all about the clapping because I was so annoyed. I've used it before so I dond't know why I forgot abotu it. It might be that I've started to use it 'against' our cats when they are noisy and so I didn't think to use it on "humans" ;)

I once temp'ed as a schoolteacher where I got a class (4. year) who had been 'trained' so that if the teacher clapped for silence everyone joined in. It was very cool. I'm not sure I could introduce that to a bunch of 13 year olds though. But If I get a younger class who noisy I'm gonna learn them that.
