You probably don't know this, but I am notorious for being late.
I can be late from 5 min to a whole hour! It's so bad one of my friends has nicknamed me "Captain Slow".
Well despite how bad it is, if I am ever late than for more than 5-15 mins is always because something happens; I miss a bus or my bicycle breaks down (again).

It's not the end of the world, though :) It happens. I mean, I understand that you feel like a dork, but... it happens.

Just be glad that the kids were glad and their teacher was understanding.
