Yeah, I'm still alive.

I haven't posted here for quite a while, I know, but there haven't been much to write about. I should still post anyway but I haven’t really had the mood to write about stuff. But heres making up for a good bit of it:

Much of it has to do with the fact that I haven’t' done much lately...period. My studies have suffered from ( Read more... )

And baby needs food! You get education and job!

Thanks for the response. There really isn't anyone else save ypou8 and Akasha responding, hehe.

re: RPG. I already read Darth & Droids, and it's genious, jsut plain and simple genius! I love it. It's so funny.

I just started reading DM of the rings as well, but it's not anywhere near D&D.

I found D&D through Irregular Comic: http://www.irregularwebcomic.net/1.html

Btw. Good luck on your exams :D

I agree, DMotR is funny but DnD is much better. ;)

Thanks. The exams are all over now, I'm just waiting for results.
I hope I passed them all, but I'll find out one week from now on. ;)

Hope you did well.

Re. DMotR, one of the only ones that really had me going was this one: http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=1262

The very last box: "Hail to the king baby, Aragon son of Anduril is back"
GM: "Anduril is the name of your sword sword, dumb ass"

I couldn't stop laughing at that one for some reason. It just said so much about the whole campaign and the player of Aragon in particular.

Hi, I read akasha's journal, so i thought I'd check out yours too. :)

I can relate to the studying/motivation issues. I just finished my masters degree. Some days I had no motivation. Its hard, but if you can focus on completing one item at a time and then move on to the next one, you will make it.

How long does it take you to develop all of the material for an RPG? It sounds like a lot of time and work!

Congratulation on finishing the degree :D
And yes I agree, the best way through it is by making small goals and acoplishing those... one step at a time.

Re: RPG.
The one I talked about in this post took a long time to prepare. I must admit it was a bit of self-denial; spending alot of time on it(something others would enjoy) instead of boring schoolwork. It is the biggest RPG project I have made.

Normally I run a campagin with a set group of 4-5 people and we have a session lasting about 5 hours, every other week. So it's most more limited what I have to prepare for that.
In addition the players are also much more involvet in the devolopment of the story in a campaign than i na one-shot scenario. So even if I wanted too, it wouldn't be very good to prepare too much. Rather I rely much mroe on spontanious creativity.
I got some plans for roughly which directions things shoudl be going, some names on NPC's some clues on some investigation-stuff. but a lot of it just comes along, depending on what the players do.

All of that creativity will help you be a good teacher. :)
