It has been two days since The Stolen Earth, and frankly, I still feel pretty down about it. The episode was all kinds of fabulous, but the thought of losing Ten pretty much sucks ( Read more... )

I JUST watched the Eight movie. And it really won't cheer you up. Trust me.

I had read that, but I've also seen theories about a flashback for the xmas special. So who knows what will happen.

All true facts. It's just the pessimist in me I suppose...worrying too much. I try not to read too many theories about what might happen as none of us really know. But sometimes I read them just to see what other people are thinking. We'll find out on Saturday I guess.

It made for some great suspense but there's no way they'd do that right before the season finale. My theory is that Rose is gonna do something killer awesome and he'll come back.

And for the record I liked eight, it's diffrent but still pretty good.

The episode was one of the best for sure. Lots of suspense as you said, and an episode with everyone back together is awesome just for that.

I like your idea about Rose. I think she might surprise us even more in the finale.

Eight is pretty nice isn't he.

Yeah, I really did like eight, I think he held all the basic doctor traits and I know everyone gets all upset cause he's american and not a brit but come on, it's not like Gallifrey has a england, why can't he have an american accent? I think it's more real if he's got some variety

I didn't mind him having an American accent. The movie was set in the States, so why not have an accent that goes with locale. I wonder if they did go ahead with the series back then with Eight, if they would have set it more in the US or the UK.

However, I do love a British accent. I think that is small part of why us Americans like Doctor Who. We get to hear all these fantastic accents.

We are the same in every way. I was SO SAD when Nine regenerated, but I have grown to love Ten VERY VERY VERY VERY much. My favorite Doctor is still Four, very closely followed by Nine, and very VERY closely followed by Ten, so seeing him regenerate broke my fangirl heart.

Eight is all kinds of wonderful! But I recommend getting to know him through the Big Finish audio dramas if you haven't already. (www.bigfinish.com) He's fantastic! My favorite after 10 and I kinda hated the movie.

I know what you mean about 10. I fee the same way, at the end of last season though I had talked myself into believing they were going to regenerate him so I was ready, I had my box of tissues and my glass of water...bring on the regeneration. But this season I've been so focused on my fear that they are going to do something horrid to Donna that it never even crossed my mind to think they'd do this. sigh. I've just decided to refuse to believe it until it happens...and maybe not even then! :)

Haha. Yes, the movie isn't that great, but I do like watching Eight for some reason. I haven't listed to the BF audio dramas with Eight yet. I do have some of Five and Six though. They are very cool. I will definitely check out some of Eight. Could you recommend any stories in particular that you like?

As for Ten, I think you have the right idea about refusing to believe it until it happens. I think there is still hope for him yet.

Well I love them all, but for the eighth doctor there are sorta two story arcs. The first is his adventures with a young woman who he meets in 1929 named Charlotte "Charley" Pollard. Their first story is "Storm Warning". This entire arc is my favorite of the BFA I think and one of my top favory Doctor Who story lines to date. You can listen to them out of order for the most part, but they really work the very best if you can catch them in order. And of course some of them can be a little camp ("Minuet in Hell" might be the the one with the most camp...but its got the Brig in it so that makes it alright. haha!) Some of my Favorite 8/Charley adventures are "The Chimes of Midnight" "Time of the Daleks" the "Neverland"/"Zagreus"/"Scherzo" story (three parts to a really huge story that served as the end of "series 1 and start of series 2) and "The Natural History of Fear" (Maybe the best audio drama I've ever heard ( ... )

Heh. Don't worry. We all have a soft spot for the Doctor and tend to be really wordy when talking about him.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely look you up after I've listened to them. They sound super.
