Summary: Wonshik helps Hakyeon in a dance competition. Chaos ensues.
Generally speaking, Wonshik thinks he has good work skills. He gets to work early, and helps set up for the rush hour of the morning. He is diligent; he works hard and is loved by both staff and customers alike. Now if only he would start paying attention to the world around him instead of being so single-mindedly focused on getting the drinks made. He would have seen his mistake of opening his mouth.
When at work, he tries not to listen to people’s conversations. After all, they are not conversations in which he is involved and he wasn’t raised in a barn. My mother taught me at least that much. He knew not to pry, but when hearing the sullen voice so early in the morning while it looked like it would be gorgeous out later in the day, he had to open his mouth. He just had to, didn’t he. “You said you’re looking for a dance partner? I mean I’m not the greatest but I could give it a try if it helps you.” He says to the sullen figure as he hands the customer the drink, grasping for a lid.
If he had grabbed the lid sooner he wouldn’t have seen the two stunning dark brown eyes searching for answers. And he also wouldn't have had the coffee he just made for this stranger spill onto his hand, burning it. Trying not to wince too much- because sweet mother of PEARL did that hurt (don't let Taekwoon know he still says that he won't hear the end of it) he hands the gorgeous stranger his drink. His skin looks so….nice. And warm. And doesn't forget to hand him a lid as well, and bows while handing it to him. “I'm terribly sorry sir for not putting the lid on sooner. I….thought it would be a good way to keep you from leaving so soon.” Did I really just say that oh my god I sound so greasy.
In his state of self-loathing, Wonshik doesn't seem to notice his muse is blushing and is not looking at him. When he does come to, to re-join the world, he is met with a napkin to his face with what looks like words. Ah, that's right, you're cross eyed. Let's get back to real sight.
Cha Hakyeon. And a series of numbers. “My phone number, so we can keep in tough.” He looks up to see this Hakyeon looking at every which direction except his own. Wonshik can't help but have a soft smile adorn his face.
“I hope you have a wonderful day, Hakyeon. I'm Wonshik.” “I know,” cue blushing and mumbling, “you have a name tag on, y’know.” Wonshik laughs and tries to not fall on the floor. If this is how Taekwoon-hyung felt talking to Jaehwan, I want to apologize to him.
“Are you free anytime today? Just to, you know, talk about the choreography. Because the competition is in two weeks.” “My shift ends at 2:45 so I'm free after 3o’clock.” He sees a dazzling smile grace Hakyeon’s lips. I wonder what they’d feel like against mine….wait what no. Why do you do the thing brain. “Excellent. Do you want to meet up here at 3 then?” Wonshik nods, and says “That sounds like a wonderful idea. I will see you at 3.”
Hakyeon bids Wonshik goodbye, and leaves the café. Now Wonshik remembers the burning sensation in his hand, and fusses with one of the knobs for the sink to have cold water run over it. And he can’t get his mind off of the smile he was given. So he does the best thing he knows.
He texts his best friends. Because best friends are supposed to help, right?
