Here it is, folks - a bright and shiny new lj community just for fans of Myron Bolitar, Win, and the rest of the gang in Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar series

Win is my favorite, too :) I love characters who have the elements of a stereotype... but also elements that are totally non-stereotypical. And the bromance between him and Myron is fantastic :D
I've only read three of Coben's books so far - the first three in the Bolitar series. I'm an English teacher and was supervising some students in the library one day and founds the books while browsing the shelves. I picked Deal Breaker up by chance and I'm so glad I did!
Thanks so much for joining this comm! And - ooh - bringing with you the possibility of an art post in the near future!
I was a fan of Harlan Coben since Just One Look and Tell No One. I have the biggest crush on the antagonist of both books, Eric Wu. I couldn't get enough of Coben's style because his mysteries are delectable so I started to read No Second Chance. And then while at the bookstore, I saw this big hardbound copy of his three novels all in one: Deal Breaker, Drop Shot, Fade Away. I couldn't buy it so everyday I go there, and read for 6 hours each day, until I got to finish it. Now what kept me reading on is the fact that it's my new Sherlock Holmes series! Myron Bolitar is such a great character with so many dimensions that Coben keep alive...and especially Windsor Horne Lockwood III. He captured my interest the moment he appeared on the page. I also like Esperanza, and her dynamics with Myron. Not failing to mention, Coben's knack of storytelling and weaving plots together is outstanding and remarkably subtle...and kept me guessing until the end

So Just One Look and Tell No One are parts of a series, too? Or is Wu the only character that shows up in both? Sounds intriguing, either way. I love Win as well. And that Myron and Esparanza care so much about one another without there being some sort of sexual tension between them. What makes Coben's characters so powerful, I think, is that they have what every adult wants to some degree. Relationships that are mature and yet as strong and lasting as the friendships we had when we were children. Those can be hard to come by.
I'm just reading Back Spin now, so I look forward to seeing what it shows me of Myron and Win. I liked the idea of them - Myron's acceptance of Win, flaws and all, and Win's protectiveness of Myron - since book one. But the end of Drop Shot when Win tells Myron "That's why I love you" is what really won me. Then when Myron says, in Fade Away, "Two men can love each other and not be gay"... Maybe it's just that not a lot of men I know are that comfortable in their masculinity, or that open with their

I love how everyone is telling Win and Myron that maybe their 'friendship' is latent for a homosexual relationship but I do believe in Bromance, you know, "guy love".
Tell No One and Just One Look are not part of the Myron Bolitar series. They're different novels but yeah, they have the same antagonist, although Eric Wu is only a second antagonist (or is it third?) in Tell because he was a hired killer; and then he becomes the lead one in Just. You should read his non-MB novels, they're great, especially these two...so fucking intense, their plots!
Ooh, Drop Shot with Win saying that to Myron was very moving. Win is such an emotional wreckshutdown, but I'm glad that at least Myron matters to him. They're platonic soulmates, I've always had that feeling about them <3
