Election '08

I mentioned in my last entry that I had some thoughts on the VP debate.  But the more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that everyone-save those few kool-aide drinkers-feels the same way about Sarah Palin as I do.  Every night I go to bed fearing that tomorrow will be the day that everyone starts falling for it, and every morning ( Read more... )

yay - you should probably bring a few blankets too. I'm not sure if this bridge will have outlets, but I don't think my space-heater would outdoors anyway.

To hell with porridge - let's camp under the Hoan and grill up the investment bankers who jump off. Mmm... is that a soussaince of liquidity I taste?

Weird! Rockin' Ryan and the Soussaince of Liquidity was actually the name of my old ska band.

I saw McCain fired the campaign chair. Given where this guy lives, it doesn't surprise me one bit. Grundy, VA still longs for the days where their were separate water fountains and weekend lynching parties. It's only two hours north of where I live.

I can't see how anyone can look at this crazy bitch and trust her to lead the country. McCain shouldn't even trust her and should hire a food taster.

I forget you live in Virginia! How do you feel about Obama's prospects there? Has there really been such a large shift over the past few weeks?

Is the northern part of your state really communist? ;-)

There would be a special sort of irony if the state that pushes the first black president over the top (and Virginia could certainly be that state) winds up being the state with "sic semper tyrannis" on its seal. My god, the symbolism couldn't get more powerful than that.

You're right, I never thought about that!

I have noticed quite a few Obama/Biden yard signs in the area. Going back just 4 years ago, I only saw Bush/Cheney signs. Registration of new local voters is at an all time high according to the news reports today. VA has been going Democratic in state elections lately, so I am hoping the trend will extend to the presidential election.
