I also remember things being a lot better than they used to (ranging from advertising and quality of manufactured goods to feelings and emotions.).
It'd be neat to build a time machine and regain the excitement of when things felt new. I want to capture, bottle and sell that feeling.

Maybe for perspective we should invent anti-holidays, where you live your life by 1950 standards for a day. You could work for a few hours in a dangerous steel mill, engage in some old-fashioned Rockwellian child abuse, and perhaps wrap the day off with a little just boys being boys date-rape. After that, maybe we'd come to appreciate the day-to-day life of being childless, urban deviants.
