there are plenty of reasons to be concerned about the long-term damaging effects of the Bush presidency, but the supreme court tops the list. everybody is aware of what the court's been up to, right?

Two words: Harriet Miers.

Yet, somehow the fates would have this particular President swear in two Supreme Court justices in his final term--a term which many debate in its legitimacy.

Largest debt in history.
A military spread so thin even France could invade us.
No war strategy.

This is like every other business dubbya has been appointed head chair prior his presidency...bankrupted.

And Al Gore was "too creepy."

my belief is that Miers' nomination was intended to fail from the outset. her confirmation process (such as it were) was so badly bungled from the beginning that it's only possible intended purpose was to make whomever came after her look eight hundred times more reasonable/competent by comparison. which it did.

also, i agree.
