Fact is, I'm going away to Orlando at the end of the week, so the standard project is taking a slight break. There might be one or two more project posts this week, but the truth is that my focus is on finishing work that needs to be done... and getting ready for the trip. Some more articles:

Your Stooges review baffles me, since old Stooges lyrics were among the most intelligent ever. Used a few words to say a lot. Try "Not Right," which was one of the What Thing lyrics I quoted in my book. Have only heard "My Idea Of Fun" from the new one. But when Iggy says "My idea of fun/Is killing everyone" he's not talking about his own idea of fun, so why should I care?

I'll admit, I'm relying on Bang's reading of the Stooges to parse this album. And I'm not using "stupidity" as an antonym for intelligent (as odd as that might be). I think it's very smart to talk about these things in this way. I think that a line like "my dick is turning into a tree" is both horribly stupid and really brilliant - the former partially relying upon the latter.

Why is "My idea of fun / is killing everyone," not his own idea of fun?

Strangely, last Thursday EarthLink put my livejournal notifications into my spam folder, which I rarely check; I just decided to today at whim and found this response. (EarthLink hasn't done it since; but I guess I'd better be more persistent in checking the spam folder.) The link had expired.
