The first thing I noticed when I opened the front door this morning was the wicker chair. It had fallen over and had moved about six feet. Then I noticed both recycling bins had toppled over and spewed their contents all over the porch. I'm writing this entry a week after Matt left and went back to Michigan. Things have calmed down considerably since he was here. For all the preparation as in cleaning that I did before his visit, it seems as though every conceivable obstacle beyond my control was put in the way of his having a good time here.

Today coming home from the shop the pollens weren't quite as bad. Work at the shop was busy. There were a lot of people coming in today and a lot of them needed to be waited on but not a lot of people bought stuff. I had quite a run in with pollen today. You could actually see it in the air, blowing sideways. And with sustained winds at 27 mph and gusts of up to 42 mph it kept getting in my eyes. It's kind of nice that I haven't needed medication for my allergies this spring, well not yet anyway. The tree pollens that are supposed to be pretty awful this year haven't affected me that greatly. Usually I do alright with flowers and the fall weeds too. I've heard that echinacea can help as well. I was told this by one of Barbara's other ( Read more... )
