On Osama death...

So learned that Osama Bin Laden was killed last night. The following in my impressions:

-First I have to give points to President Obama for actually sending soldiers into harms way to kill the man, as opposed to sending a drone/cruise missile or similar. I am not sure why that is important to me but it is and I did not think he would do it.

-Being this far from 9/11 I wonder if capture would have been better than killing?

-Burial at see, I have mixed feeling on this reported disposal of the body. I understand the idea that they did not want to have a body and grave-site to become a shrine but at the same time no body is going to give more cause/support for the wide variety of cracked conspiracies that will crop up.

-Finally I find the exuberant and "party like" celebrations a bit repugnant. A man was killed, yes he deserved it but I will not celebrate like it was a party. He is dead, I am satisfied and pleased that justice was done, but I will not find joy in his death. Maybe I would think differently if I had a loved one killed on 9/11.
