I wasn't going to post about the cancellation of SG-1. But then I heard that SG-1 cast members might join the Atlantis. So I thought, okay, how about I NOT watch season 3 AT ALL and wait to hear if Danny-Boy is transferred (or any of them come to think of it), cos I won't bother ( Read more... )

I get the feeling that if Daniel or Sam come over, Elizabeth may not stick around. Which is a really crummy thing to do to the character and actress - "Hey, thanks for three years of hard work, we found a character to replace you that we've already developed on another show, buh-bye." Of course, I was under the impression that all of the Atlantis cast are signed up for six years, so I don't know if they could do that. Would it have to be a mutual thing?

I'm lukewarm toward Daniel myself. It doesn't help that I find the craziest, most insensitive, and most vicious fans in the Stargate fandom to also be harcore Daniel fans. (Yes, I know most Daniel fans are perfectly normal and wonderful, but the fanatic end really is scary). I have zero desire to see that leak over to Atlantis fandom.

Generally tv contracts are written so that each year in the contract is an option that can be picked up or not by the production company. The actor doesn't get any say in the matter. If the production company picks up the option, the actor comes back. If the production company doesn't, the actor looks for other work. No, it's not fair. Television isn't ( ... )

Vala can come over and give Ronon, McKay and everyone else a run for their money.

It won't happen, but I can fantasize. :D

Michael Shanks and Amanda Tapping are the two highest paid actors - too expensive and I doubt they would be moved over. Skiffy is all about MONEY.

Shanks wants to move on and do other things. He isn't in every episode this year and someone said they saw an interview where he only came back because he wanted to work with Claudia Black. Tapping might want to come back, but she is one of the highest paid actors so she might be too expensive.

The ONLY SG-1 character that I might enjoy seeing in Atlantis on a regular basis would be Carter, but I DON'T want her there because she's NOT NEEDED. Atlantis already has its own genius astrophysicist, and see the McKay and Carter Show all the time would get old FAST.
