Ipod quandry

Does anyone know how to delete songs off an ipod? I don't want to clear the whole thing, I just want to remove a dozen or so songs.

when you connect it to your computer (make sure your itunes is set to the mode where it does not make automatic changes according to whatever is on your computer at the time), then the ipod icon will come up and you can click on it and see the playlist of all the songs on the ipod. then you can select certain ones and press the delete key, it'll ask you "are you sure you want to delete?" and say yes. this won't affect the songs you have on your computer, and allows you to just delete a song or several w/o changing the whole ipod contents. hmm... hard to explain over internet. if it's still confusing, i can try showing you sometime :)

Delete them from iTunes, if you use it, then go to update iPod.
